FAQs
Here are answers to common questions when sourcing a medical equipment repair and preventative maintenance partner.
01
Do you sell or repair home medical equipment?
No. We only work with medical facilities and do not sell or repair home medical equipment.
02
What area(s) do you service?
We service all of Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula, and Northern Indiana. We are based in Grandville and regularly serve the Grand Rapids and West Michigan area.
03
What types of medical equipment do you repair?
We repair a wide range of medical and biomedical equipment, including tabletop sterilizers, patient monitors, electrosurgical units, exam tables, EKG machines, ultrasound machines, infusion pumps, syringe pumps, and select dental handpieces. For a full list of equipment we service, please click here.
04
How quickly can you help with equipment repairs?
We consider the urgency of the repair, the type of equipment, technician availability, and parts availability when scheduling service. Our team is committed to servicing your equipment as promptly as possible, especially when downed equipment is affecting daily operations or patient care.
05
Do you offer on-site repairs, bench repairs, or both?
We perform both on-site repairs and bench repairs for select equipment. Common bench repair items include tabletop sterilizers, patient monitors, EKG machines, and select dental handpieces. In some cases, we may visit your site and determine that a unit should be brought back to our shop for additional testing. When available and appropriate, our loaner equipment program can help reduce disruption while equipment is being serviced.
06
What warranties or guarantees do you provide for repairs?
Our labor is warrantied for 90 days. Parts warranties vary by manufacturer, and we honor applicable manufacturer warranties. Labor is not guaranteed when a part is purchased outside of Med-Tech.
07
How do you handle sensitive patient data during repairs?
Patient privacy is a top priority. Med-Tech technicians will not be present with a patient unless one of your staff members is present. If our technicians are exposed to patient information, which is unusual, they are trained to protect patients’ health information.
08
How are repair costs, labor, and replacement parts priced?
Our pricing is transparent and competitive. For many services, we provide detailed estimates after diagnosis that outline labor and any required replacement parts. Any additional charges will be communicated before work proceeds.
09
How do you schedule urgent medical equipment repairs?
If your repair need is urgent, we consider technician availability, equipment type, location, and the impact on your daily operations when scheduling service. Our goal is to help reduce disruption and get critical equipment back in service as promptly as possible.
10
Do you repair or sharpen medical instruments such as scissors and forceps?
Yes. We use an outside vendor for medical instrument sharpening and repair. Turnaround time depends on the vendor’s workload, the number of pieces, and the extent of damage.
Med-Tech has become our trusted partner for all our medical equipment repair needs. Their professionalism and expertise shine through in every interaction. Sue helped us refine our processes to streamline repair needs, which has made working with them so easy. We value their commitment to delivering exceptional service and would confidently recommend them to others in the healthcare industry.
